Reynolds High School Shooting, Authorities Investigate Report Of Shooting At RJ Reynolds High School In Winston-Salam

 A tense situation unfolded today in Winston-Salem as a juvenile was shot at RJ Reynolds High School. The incident, reported near West Northwest Blvd, led to a swift response from emergency services and police.



The victim, a student, sustained a gunshot wound to the upper leg during an altercation. Authorities have confirmed that the student is currently hospitalized, though their condition has not been disclosed. The search for the suspect is ongoing.


Students from Reynolds High School were evacuated to the Harris Teeter on Cloverdale Avenue, where parents are being asked to pick them up. In addition, Brunson Elementary and Wiley Middle School were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.


“This is an unfortunate situation that arose from an altercation,” said Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough Jr. “We are working diligently to ensure the safety of all involved.”


The shooting has left the community shaken, with parents and residents seeking answers. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
