The Vancouver community mourns the loss of Nathan Cooke, a promising nursing student whose life was dedicated to the service of others. Nathan's journey from Belleville, Ontario, to Vancouver, British Columbia, was characterized by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, compassion for those in need, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Nathan's early education at Centennial Secondary School laid the foundation for his future in nursing. Graduating in June 2023, he was recognized for his academic achievements and his involvement in community service. 

His passion for healthcare led him to Trent University, where he embarked on a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with an anticipated graduation in April 2027. During his tenure at Trent University, Nathan's dedication to his studies was evident. 




His clinical placement at St. Joseph's at Fleming from January to April 2024 provided him with hands-on experience in patient care. Nathan's responsibilities included assisting with daily living activities, participating in skills lab simulations, and adhering to strict infection control protocols. 

His colleagues and mentors admired his ability to work both independently and collaboratively, always demonstrating respect and a willingness to help wherever needed. In addition to his academic and clinical commitments, Nathan worked as a Grocery Stock Clerk at Metro since December 2020. 

In this role, he was known for his meticulous attention to detail, maintaining organized and safe work environments, and providing exceptional customer service. His multitasking abilities and positive attitude were appreciated by both customers and coworkers.

Nathan's skill set extended beyond his professional roles. He was proficient in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR, vital signs monitoring, and mobility assistance. 

His strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication made him a reliable and trusted individual in all his endeavors. Fluent in English, Nathan's friendly and adaptable nature allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life.

Outside of his professional life, Nathan was a cherished member of his family and community. He is survived by his loving parents, supportive siblings, and a wide circle of friends who remember him for his generosity, empathy, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

Nathan Cooke's passing is a profound loss to all who knew him. His legacy of compassion, dedication, and service serves as an inspiration to aspiring healthcare professionals and the community at large. 

As we honor Nathan's memory, we reflect on the positive impact he had on the lives he touched and the lasting impression of kindness and commitment he leaves behind.
