Harsh Verma Obituary, Eshan Death - DTU Student Suicide - Two Students Dies After Falling From PG Building In Delhi

Two college students met a tragic end after falling from the fourth floor of a paying guest (PG) building near Delhi Technical University (DTU) in the Shahbad Dairy area on Monday.

Eshan, a DTU engineering student, and Harsh Verma, from Parshuram College, were found gravely injured after neighbors heard a loud noise followed by cries. Both succumbed to their injuries despite emergency medical intervention.

The circumstances leading to the fall remain unclear, prompting an intensive police investigation. According to officials, the pair was seated near an open window in their room when the incident occurred. Initial reports suggest they were engaged in a casual conversation moments before the fall.

"This is a devastating situation. We are looking into all possibilities, including whether the incident was accidental, involved a scuffle, or was caused by external foul play," said a senior police officer.

Investigators are interviewing residents of the PG accommodation and neighbors to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy. The deaths have sparked conversations around student safety in rented accommodations.

Many PG buildings in the area house students pursuing higher education, but concerns about building safety protocols are resurfacing. "Most windows lack protective grills, and basic safety measures are often ignored," complained a parent whose child resides in a similar accommodation.

While the investigation is ongoing, police have assured the public and the victims’ families of a fair and thorough probe. "We will leave no stone unturned to uncover the truth," stated the police spokesperson.

As Eshan and Harsh’s families prepare for the heartbreaking task of bidding farewell to their loved ones, their loss serves as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities students face while living away from home.
