Cinnamon Cooney, The Art Sherpa, may no longer be with us, but her legacy will continue to inspire generations of artists. From her humble beginnings to becoming a celebrated YouTube content creator, Cinnamon’s life was a testament to the power of passion and perseverance.

Born on July 1, 1970, Cinnamon grew up with a love for art that eventually blossomed into a career dedicated to teaching and empowering others.

She launched her YouTube channel, The Art Sherpa, over a decade ago with a simple mission: to make art accessible to everyone. Her channel quickly grew into a global phenomenon, attracting over 745,000 subscribers and countless devoted fans.

Cinnamon’s tutorials stood out for their inclusivity and approachability. Whether you were a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, her lessons made you feel capable of creating something beautiful.

Her cheerful demeanor and encouraging words often turned nervous first-time painters into confident creators. “You don’t need talent to start,” she often said, “just a willingness to try.”

Over the years, Cinnamon’s channel became more than just a collection of painting tutorials. It became a community where people found friendship, support, and inspiration. She cultivated an environment of kindness and positivity, reminding everyone that art is not about perfection but about self-expression and connection.

Beyond her YouTube success, Cinnamon was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband, John Cooney, played a significant role in her journey, supporting her vision and helping manage the technical aspects of her channel. Together, they built a life centered around creativity and love, raising three wonderful children: Honey, Spider Jack, and Luna Bella.

Cinnamon’s sudden passing on December 10, 2024, has left her family and community heartbroken. The cause of her death is yet to be determined, but the loss is deeply felt by all who knew and admired her. Her family, who relied on her YouTube channel as their primary source of income, now faces immense challenges.

To support them, a GoFundMe has been established on her website, https://theartsherpa.com. Contributions will help provide stability for John and their children during this heartbreaking time.

While Cinnamon’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through her art and the countless lives she touched. Her lessons will continue to inspire, reminding us that art has the power to heal, connect, and transform.
