It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Austin Carpenter, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who died unexpectedly at the age of 32. Austin's death has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

Born on November 22, 1992, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Austin grew up in Louisa, where he was well-known for his caring heart, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to making a positive impact on the world around him. A proud graduate of Louisa County High School (Class of 2011), Austin went on to earn his degree from James Madison University, where he continued to cultivate his passions for business and community service.


Austin was a successful businessman, known for his partnerships with several charitable organizations, including The Pawerful Rescue, a group dedicated to helping animals in need. His work was a reflection of his deep compassion for both people and animals, and his efforts to make a difference were felt in many corners of his community. Austin's legacy as a philanthropist will continue to inspire those who were touched by his kindness and dedication.


In addition to his professional accomplishments, Austin was a loving family member. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Paige Carpenter, his sister Claire Allen, his brother Collin Carpenter, and his beloved Papa, Robert “Bobby Lee” Johnson. Austin is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dear, including his uncle Jim Weaver, cousins Brad and Hunter Weaver, his aunt Debbie Carpenter and husband James Fazio, cousins Jessie DiMeglio and Sarah Boyd, as well as his uncles William Carpenter and Tim Carpenter.


Austin was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Phyllis Waugh Johnson and Evelyn Deane Carpenter, his grandfather, Sanford Rea Carpenter, his aunt Karen Johnson Weaver, and his beloved dog, Lunchbox, who was a cherished companion to Austin throughout his life.


The family will hold a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa, Virginia, on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. This will be an opportunity for friends and family to come together, celebrate Austin's life, and share memories of the remarkable young man he was.


In this difficult time, the family asks for privacy as they grieve the loss of their loved one. While Austin's time with us was far too short, his impact on those around him will never be forgotten. His compassion, work ethic, and positive attitude will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
