On Tuesday, a shooting in Aberdeen led to two individuals being hospitalized and a prompt police response. According to officials, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. at a residence on North Congress Street.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered one person with a gunshot wound and transported them to a hospital. A second individual fled, initiating a search for a white Chevy Equinox, as described in police alerts.
The search ended roughly 40 minutes later when a South Dakota State Trooper located the suspect’s vehicle in the 100 block of West Melgaard. The individual, also suffering from a gunshot wound, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police have confirmed there is no threat to the public. However, the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities at 605-626-7911.
